Verizon Users: Friends & Family!

Verizon released there "Friends & Family" feature today...it's free!

Basically you can login to your VZW account and enter 5 or 10 (depending on your account) non-vzw numbers that you would like to call for free!

It is a really cool feature. Check it out!

yea to bad you have to have a 89.99 a month voice plan 900 minutes or more

david9962000 02-15-2009 05:36 PM

Cool! Thanks.

zduchene 02-15-2009 05:37 PM

I think for the 89.99 you get 10 people, for the lesser plans you get 5...don't quote me on that though. I have 7 numbers on my account and spend several hundred $ per/mo and am a business customer so they take care of me pretty well.

akosnitzky 02-15-2009 05:39 PM

Wirelessly posted (Its All About the U!)

I think you need 1400 min or more on a shared plan. I am paying $79.99 for 1300. Dont know the price difference

zduchene 02-15-2009 05:53 PM

just saw the commercial on the tv again...

Nationwide basic 59.99 or more. I would call them and ask anyway, usually they are good about taking care of there customers...especially if you are a business customer.

It's available online at vzw.com. I had to look around for a while but was able to find the entry form. Got mine set up!

I had to call and have them activate it for our account. They said "some accounts didn't automatically get this that should have.." The call was painless and having done that it was very easy to set up the call list.

This is a surprisingly nice feature for Verizon.

dbower96 02-16-2009 12:08 PM

Does anyone know if this works per person on the account, or if it is just 5 or 10 for the entire account to share...?

zduchene 02-16-2009 12:09 PM

It is just 5 or 10 for the entire account, not per person.

dbower96 02-16-2009 12:19 PM

Thanks. I figured as much... I guess its a good thing I live in NM where Verizon holds about 75 % of the business!

Tri-Tip 02-16-2009 06:22 PM

I have that for every number I call...unlimited plan $129.99 for Blackberry Data and Unlimited Voice minutes.

12 Wyoming 02-16-2009 08:07 PM

Yes this is a good thing. I have the 900 min plan so I get 5. 20% Employee discount makes it $47 something. And I don't even work for Verizon. My Brother is on Sprint, so now we can chat during the weekday too. He can talk for hours:? He's a Trucker, so maybe that's why!

JR1 02-18-2009 05:05 PM

Note, that after a half hour of screwing around to get onto my online account...only to discover that this only applies to certain plans, and mine ain't one of them. Thanks, V, for nuttin'.

XelhaBB 02-18-2009 05:11 PM

LOL JR1!!!

Upgrade your plan. But if you aren't in need of more minutes you'll probably not benefit from it.

It's a dream for me since my sister, dad, and most friends are on other carriers.

akosnitzky 02-19-2009 09:23 PM

This would be a good thread for the new forum.

zerog46 02-19-2009 09:25 PM

Good call, if anyone has a problem let me know.

rachamphetamine 02-19-2009 09:26 PM

I was just about to shuttle it over there!
