Default AT&T Data (edge) connectivity problem in DC

Please Login to Remove!

Spoke to AT&T support who indicated there is an open ticket (#TT000010325491) on the problem I reported with my 8700C not getting beyond GSM service for the last 24-hours. But there is no estimated time for resolution and 24+ hours strikes me as excessive. Is anyone else experiencing similar prolonged problems with data service? --Andrew

ATT was upgrading towers in the Central NJ area last week. Maybe they are now doign the same in the DC area?

Have you tried pulling the battery to see if that will help?

Default Yes to Reset/Reboot/Battery/SIM

Thanks for your reply. I have popped the battery multiple times/did hard and soft resets/reboots multiple times. The only unusual development since my first post...is after making a voice call (GSM remains available) the device momentarily connects to the data network, receives pending/delayed email messages and then reverts back to voice only status. For some reason the voice call "stimulates" a momentary data connection. ???
