Unhappy T-Mobile USA return procedures

Please Login to Remove!

In sorrow I must return my 3 month old 8900 Curve to T-Mobile. It will no longer allow conversations due to audio cutting out 1-2 times per second. A complete wipe and different SIM card made no difference. T-Mobile says it might be my fault for having 3rd party Apps on it. Too bad for them. I can't live without my Slingbox App. Irregardless I must now prepare for an exchange with T-Mobile. Is there anything I should know besides what the T-Mobile rep told me? I took pictures of the phone in every detail so they can't claim it was damaged or got wet before they got it back. I'm sure I'll be getting a refurb. Are the rumors true that returns are refurbs that may not work themselves?

Looking for any advice in the subject

You'll very likely get a refurb, and it will very likely be a good device, don't worry.

if there is anything wrong with the device you get, contact customer care right away. the replacement device you get may be a refurb, they are usually good replacements, T-Mobile checks them out before sending it to you.

good luck

The volume control on my 8320 went out, only allowing me to turn down the volume on the speaker. Called T-Mobile and they sent me a new one. I don't know if it was a refurb as it looked new, no scratches, dents, etc. Looked pristine compared to the one I was sending back, and I thought that one looked pretty good.

At any rate the replacement one has been working fine for the past couple of months.

The replacement one does have a limited warranty of some kind, so if it fails or if you have issues they will replace it.

I wouldn't worry too much.

T-Mobile warranty replacement devices may be new or refurbished. They are inspected and repaired to manufacturer specs. The refurbished units carry a 90 day warranty.
