is there anyway i can block one of my contacts and have him stay on my contact list or at least have me not disappear from his? because if i do then it will become obvious that i blocked him. or is there a way to appear unreachable/unavailable to only one person?

You've got the perfect card to play here. Most guys don't believe girls have any technical savvy. Never mind that it's complete bull. You can still use this misconception to your advantage and say, "I don't know why it won't save you as a contact. I just don't get these BlackBerry thingys."
