Exclamation Unlocked TMo 8705g, need ATT browser!! Please HELP!! - 08-30-2009, 02:27 AM

Ive been on so many BB phones that its really hard to say which one is my favorite. Ive had a relationship with pearl, curve, bold, storm, and i want to start with this 8705g that was released for Tmobile. Its unlocked, i get DATA, i also get my emails...however i can't browse.
I sent myself a OTA download link and when i select "GET LINK" i get this:

your device does not currently have any browser configuration service book entries.
Please contact your service provider to enable the browser on your phone
.

I just called the after hours number for att but the customer service rep simply told me that the phone was not compatible.
And truly, i find that hard to believe.

Does anybody have any info or instructions i need to take to make this happen. Im yanking my hair finding it hard to believe that i can't get a simple browser on a unlocked blackberry.

Thank you sooooo much.

JR

Wirelessly posted (overwhelmingly stressed)

Call att tell them you need the service books sent to your device

You should have a BIS account with AT&T already. If you log into it, there should be a place to Change Devices by entering your PIN and IMEI numbers. Once you do that, on the BlackBerry itself you can go to Options > Advanced Options > Host Routing Table and use the menu key to Register Now. Once you get the confirm email that your device is registered, go back to the AT&T BIS page and use the Send Service Books link.

As long as you have a BlackBerry data plan on your account, this should get you the service books you need.
