My Verizon Tour Rebate
 

Pardon me if this was addressed but I received my $70 rebate for my Blackberry Tour purchase from Verizon. I was expecting a check. Instead it was a Visa debit card.

I've seen it both ways by the same carrier (att). I think it might be just a matter of luck. You can cash out the card at most banks

If you log into your Verizon account you can choose to have the funds from the card deposited directly into your checking account or have them send you a paper check.

Or go get a 70 dollar gift card for some store :)

I got mine yesterday also. You can use it just like a credit card for part of the amount or all.

Sprint does it all like this now too. Rebates, referral awards, etc.

it's not a large amt. I was just surprised. Bigger issues to deal with. :-)

Least you got yours I am still waiting. Got my release day June 11th or 10th.

When I bought my Tour through verizon, the salesman told me I would recieve the rebate as a visa pre-paid card. The thing I think is bull about the cards is if you have a small remaining balance, say less than $5, there's not much you can buy and Visa ends up just keeping that money eventually.

I always send it through certified mail.
