Default What to do now - 09-30-2009, 10:53 AM

Hi all,
1st time owner of a Blackberry, the curve 8520.

After being ill advised as to my needs in a new phone I bought this phone but now I'm stuck.

No-one mentioned anything about getting a data plan, which I can't find details on how much this can cost. where do I get it etc

No-one mentions that although this phone in being pushed to the likes of myself on Pay as you go and unlocked for any network. That not all networks can change over to it so easy. I have been going at this for days now with Virgin and Cant seem to get the internet set up, im not a heavy user of the net but I like to use yahoo chat on occassions.

So im looking for any step by step help and advice that would help get me set up for net usage. I would look at changing my Network to o2 or another if its easier.

What I will say, it that I do like the phone and some of its applications are very handy. so it would be a shame for me to sell it on and start again.

Thanks

I don't believe Virgin offers a BlackBerry data plan. You may be able to get internet using a 3rd party browser such as Opera Mini or Bolt.

Virgin dont offer Blackberry data plans.
All other carriers do.
Orange offer PAYG with blackberry data plans.
O2 and T-mobile have SIM only plans as well as contracts with blackberry data plans
Vodafone I believe may only offer blackberry data plans on contracts.

For O2, start here, with BIS for consumers: BlackBerry from O2 - BlackBerry Internet Service prices for consumers
