Default Question regarding the at&t data smart phone plan.

I know about the requirement of having a smartphone data plan if you did not own a smart phone prior to sept 6.
I currently have a samsung impression, and have been using it, but when i upgraded my plan in Feb. 09, it was to an lg incite(which is a smart phone), then i exchanged it for a samsung eternity, then i bought a samsung impression from a private seller and have been using it since june or july. I'm looking to purchase a Bold off someone, but I'm afraid of the BB Data being automatically added to my account. If I call at&t and tell them how i initially upgraded to the incite, will that be enough to qualify for this new agreement, and avoid the BB data plan?
Thanks!

Wirelessly posted (White and Nerdy)

If you buy the phone from them, theyl add it on for you. If u do it under the table like yo say you are, then its just luck of the draw. Keep in mind though, without a BLACKBERRY data plan, you can't do much datawise on this phone. And you won't be able to do mms either

Yep... why are you trying to avoid a BlackBerry data plan if you want to buy a BlackBerry?
