Default How to switch to an unlocked BB on Verizon Wireless

Please Login to Remove!

Hi all: I've been a BB user since the non-color pager model but this is my first post on here. Hopefully folks can provide some insight into my issue.

I have a Verizon Wireless Curve 8330 with a recently cracked screen (still works but only the right side of the screen is visible). I'm a few months away from upgrading through the New Every Two, but I've been looking on Amazon and eBay for unlocked older models to maybe get an unlocked replacement until I can upgrade through Verizon.

I've never done this before, so my question is is it a matter of just buying an unlocked BB on Amazon and calling Verizon to activate the phone and BB services? Can vendors usually be trusted when they say ESNs are clean? Specifically, I'm looking at New Blackberry 7250 CDMA PDA GPS Phone: Cell Phones & Service

I'm sorry if this is the wrong section to post under, and thanks in advance to any help anyone can provide.

Well...a 7250 is like going back to the stone age.

If it's a VZW BB, just call them to switch it or log onto their site and switch it yourself.

Welcome to the forums.

Look here: Buying a BlackBerry off eBay - BlackBerryFAQ

And it NEEDS to be a Verizon branded phone if you want to use it on Verizon. They won't allow other devices on their network.
