Default Sims???

I know in very general terms what a SIM card is, but what is the purpose, and why would someone change it? Where would someone get a SIM card, and for how much $$ ?

SIM sands for Subscriber Identity Module - a small chip that contains account information for GSM (Global System for Mobile Comunications) customers.

Verizon does not use SIMs for their CDMA network. The 8330 - in your profile - does not usea SIM card. Verizon "World" phone (8830, 9530, 9630) use SIM cards which are used only when the BB is used on a GSM network.

SIM cards are usually obtained from a carrier or from a pre-paid vendor.
