I am currently on TMO's flex pay, but considering going to straight contract.
My question is if I do, would I be considered a new customer, eligible for those new customer deals?

I'd assume going from NO contract to YES contract would get you that.

I know that going from GoPhone to post-paid on AT&T does.

If you are signing a new contract, you should be eligible for new activation promotions.

I know with the company I work for, if you are taking advantage of a promotion and bringing your number from prepaid to postpaid, the only restriction is your paygo balance cannot be transferred. If your just doing a switch and not getting new hardware, then you can.
