telus blackberry with virgin
 

Ok I now have the opportunity to purchase an unlocked storm that was recently used with the telus network in Canada.... would this phone be compatible with the Virgin network in Canada?

Well, Bell owns Virgin and they share a network with Telus so the hardware should be compatible. Safest bet is to call them with the imei to make sure it's not blocked or anything.

I had a customer like that, the Storm she bought was stolen and we couldn't set it up for her.

awesome... i know this one isn't stolen... my friend just didn't want the service anymore and canceled his contract... I will check the IMEI with virgin tomorrow and then get the thing unlocked. Thanks for your help... Finally some good news thanks!

It's under my understanding that Virgin supports BlackBerrys now as well, I saw them selling the 8530 in the mall yesterday.

ya they do... Both CDMA and GSM services, but the only phones they have right now that are for the GSM are the iphone and the BB Bold... so I am very nervous about seeing if the Storm will work... all the other BB models they have are CDMA lol

Well the storm won't work with Virgin... I am getting so frustrated with trying to find a phone that will work with my service!!!

Why won't it work?

I'm guessing no service books for that model.
