Is there anyway i programatically (as i dont think there is an option for it on the phone) can disable the sound on the buildin camera on curve 8310?

I think there's a peeping-tom law in some jurisdictions, to have a sound in cameraphones, that cannot be turned off.

Sure just remove the battery and then the case. Locate the speaker and rip it from the device. Note: You will not be able to hear your phone ring, use speaker phone or listen to music. But hey you can take sneaky pictures all you want!!!

I cannot beleive how many times this question has been asked.

Default Not completely (and not programatically)...

1. Dial 611.
2. Turn down the sound as much as possible.
3. Switch to the camera.
4. Take the pic.

It will make the sound, but through your earpiece, which is the reason for #2.

I use a Sony Ericsson W810i (candybar type camera phone) sometimes when I'm biking or hiking (I haven't had my newest bb too long and I'm afraid to injure it, my old bb is a brick). ANYWAY, my favorite feature about that phone is both its high-res camera (2.3 mp I believe) and the ability to silence the fake shutter sound.

The only reason I bring this up is because of the peeping-tom law. I thought that this was true, but then that phone didn't require any sort of hack to get around the noise. Just a "silent" setting. So. Thats all I guess.
