Default Blackberry app and a sql database

Are there any tutorials or personal user experiences for building an app that can connect then read and insert data into a database?

I'm assuming the DB you want to interact with is running on some other network connected server?

I've had to do this before. The way I achieved it was to expose a core set of web services on the server which permit interaction (in a controlled fashion) to the DB. Then, the BlackBerry would make requests (using whatever protocol you want) to insert and request data.

PM me if you would like to find out more.

web services are an easy way to implement it as there are many packages available in the net. quite some overhead though.
more simple: php-script
more complicated but also more efficient: server application that acts as a jdbc-wrapper.
