Question Where do I start...How do I create a Desktop Weblink?

Please Login to Remove!

I've seen some mobile sites that offer a "download program" that ends up just being an application that puts an icon on your BB desktop that is really a browser link to their mobile site.

I'm developing a mobile site for a convention I'm helping organize and I'd like to offer a download homepage icon for the conference attendees.

Can anyone help me with this?

What's this really called? I know technically it's an application, but I keep thinking it should be something really simply like creating a web shortcut on my Windows desktop.

Is it that hard?

(Two sites that I now who have these type downloads are ESPN and Pinstack, but I'm sure there are a lot more)
