Question Unable to open a Http Socket on 7520

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

We have an application running on the blackberry Handheld 7520 which is trying to open a Http socket connection on the handheld itself. The code is:

StreamConnectionNotifier notifier = (StreamConnectionNotifier)Connector.open("http:// :115");

This code works fine on 7750 handheld but fails on 7520. The "StreamConnectionNotifier " object being returned on 7520 is NULL.

What could be the possible problem ?

The device Details are as folows:

Model: 7520
Wireless Carrier: NEXTEL
Device Software: 4.0.0.160 (Platform 1.4.0.27)
Cryptographic Kernel v3.8.0.24

The Nextel's work differently. Try changing:

"http:// :115"

to:

"http:// :115;deviceside=false"

There are some whitepapers on the RIM site that detail how to do connections from Nextel devices.
