Question How to know when the BB menu is open?

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

Is there a way to know when the (native) menu is open when using MIDlet and Canvas? (So without using a UIAppl. as main app)

I'm currently repainting the screen multiple times per second, however when the menu is open, this results in a flickering around the menu. So i would like to pause my repaint thread, when the menu is open. Therefore, i need to know when the menu is opened and when it is closed. Is there some kind of listener or trick i can use for this?

Thanx!
Jasper

Using midp canvas in BB, Flickering problem occurs when the menu is open.
Double buffering can be used as an workaround to overcome the flickering issue.

Hi Ashutosh,

Thank you for your advise. However, the blackberry devices I tested it on already use double buffering, and this doesn't solve the flickering.
