Question END_KEY problem....

Please Login to Remove!

I was trying to implement the End key functionality through code as mentioned in the link below.

successful! end a call programmaticly

keypad.keyend returns the value 18.

(char) 18 and keypad.keyend works in all simulators.

but when i installed the application in 8100 model, (char)18 and keypad.keyend is invoking the the menu button, instead of end(RED) button.

In 8100 char(20) is representiong the end key.

is there any method by which we can implement the functionality of end key, irrespective of the device model?

Question

The Simulator which i used shows its version as 4.2.1.89
and the device it shows 4.2.0.58...

will the key character change from device to device depending on the version?

is there any way to find out the key character of RED key dynamically?

Are you saying it invoked the menu button even when you used the constant Keypad.KEY_END? I can understand that the keycodes might be different, but I'd expect KEY_END would be updated on the device to reflect this.

I think its platform dependent.

Actually I build the application in JDE 4.2.1 and Iinstalled in a device with JDE version 4.2.0...
