Default How to develop

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,
We are about to buy a bunch of blackberries, and as a developer I would like to know how to develop custom apps that talk to our SQL server. What development app could I use? I am a VB / .NET fan, so anything that could plug in to that would be fine.

Thanks.

Blackberry provides a JDE that you can use. All modern (non 9xx) BBs run java. You can find out more at http://www.blackberry.com/developers.

cyberfire, you can use the mobile toolkit to create pages that BB will parse. If you need to work with local data on the BB then you can use the recordstore object with J2ME.

I have tested the MTK and it works well with the BB browser. Basically it's just like a server side page except it's lighter.

I'm just getting acquainted with the whole BB thing so my Kung Fu level is at 0.5.
