Default Pushing without BES

Please Login to Remove!

I'm designing an app that I'd like to allow users of recent BB devices on any network to use, whether or not they are using a corporate BES system. I may need to push some quantity of data at a specified time. Is it possible to engineer this without a central BES center? Perhaps a well-crafted email to the device that would load the brower's cache?

I have done just what you propose by sending XML formatted email to the handheld, where my code listens to the Inbox for such messages. It works very well.

You should be using MIDP 2.0 Push Registry. BlackBerry is compatible.
