Post Eclipse remote debugging on device - 06-23-2008, 11:10 PM

Hi,
Has anyone been able to successfully debug on the device using the Eclipse Plugin. When I try to connect to the device using Eclipse a dialog box pops up requesting certain debug files. I browser to the IDE4.2.1\simulator folder were the debug files are and press open another dialog box pops up stating connection lost with the device. If I tell the first dialog box to ignore the files I can step through the code but I can't view any variable values. Debugging with the simulator works fine.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Yair.

yes I've debgged on device successfully many times.
In the JDWP prompt, on communication tab, select 'attach to' appropriate port.

Just load the cod files in device as usual... and connect debugger, it'll conect to device..
i never faced any issues with this...

Here's an article from knowledge center for device debugging Livelink - Redirection

This describes with JDE... i use eclipse to do this though (using ant script on eclipse)

Thanks for your answer.
I read the documentation when I first tried debugging on the device.
But there is no help or troubleshooting for the errors I'm receiving.
Does anyone know how to add all the .debug files into the eclipse environment or classpath?
Also I'm not using an ant script just the eclipse plug-in, would this cause the issue?
