Default 907 invalid cod file when using mediaNet - 07-02-2008, 01:32 PM

When using the mediaNet or blackberry browser to download (OTA) a cod file, I get the 907 error ( invalid cod file). If I use the internet browser as the default browser, It works fine.

Can any one explains why is this happening? What makes it more weird is that I am able to download google maps without problems using any browser from the above.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks

Maybe something from this link, such as:

You have attempted to install, with the WAP Browser or Internet Browser, a COD file that contains sibling COD files.

If an application contains more than 64 KB of data in the application or data space, it is divided into multiple COD files known as sibling COD files. These sibling COD files are then packaged in a parent COD file that is a zip archive with the COD extension.

Note: The WAP Browser and Internet Browser do not support the installation of a COD file that contains sibling COD files.
Resolution

There are two possible solutions to this issue:

1. Install the application using the BlackBerry Browser.

OR
2. Extract the sibling COD files from the parent COD file using an application such as WinZip®. Place each sibling COD file on your web server and reference each one in the JAD file. When using this configuration, each COD file is downloaded separately.
