Default http error 401: bad request - 07-07-2008, 08:37 AM

Hi,
I am new to balckberry application devlopement.

I have installed the JDE and trying to run device simulator after firing MDS.
I am able to open google or any other website through this.
I have a made a demo website on my local server.
When i am trying to access this through this through device simulator its saying
"http error 401: bad request".

can anyone knows how to fix it.Thanks in advance.

... my first idea is that you are using "localhost" in your URL instead of the machine name...

Hi,

I have tried using 192.168.1.222 which is my machine address and tried 127.0.0.1 which is a loopback but both of the things didnt work.Any Idea ?

is your web server accessible from other machines in the same local network?

difficult to say then. Do you have to use a proxy server for accessing the web?

My proble, is solved now...
I was thinking that my MDS is attach to my tomcat server and it will start tomcat server with MDS.But i was wrong...I have to start tomcat separately to serve the request....
Instead of saying Bad request it should have said server not found ...this would be better to diagnose the problem...
