sorry, but what is the reason why you need JDE 4.0?

I have a phone with version of 7100t 4.0.0.198.
I want to make my application work on it.

What is the amount of active phones with version 4.0.0 on the hands of end users? I don't know whether it's necessary for me to make my application compatible with these old phones, like version 4.0.0 and 4.1.0.

I would suggest that you update your BlackBerry to device software version 4.1 and use JDE 4.1. For your phone it is the latest available version.

I would take 4.2.1 as minimal requirement, but it might be only suitable in Europe/Germany... It also depends if your application should be for private or corporate users...

Hi!

I've run into the same problem - adding a resource bundle for use in I18N/L10N - which worked nicely on my 8700/4.1, but failed miserably on my 7100/4.0 device. As far as I can tell, 4.0 device OSes do not support Resource Bundles, even though the API documentation claims it does. Not sure why this is. I was compiling with the 4.1 JDE, and trying to run on both the 4.0 and 4.1 OSes - 4.1 worked, 4.0 didn't. Was forced to create my own "Resource" class and use it pretty much like the ResourceBundle would have been used.

Cheers,

karl
