New Fonts on Blackberry

I am new to blackberry development. Actually i am not into real blackberry development. I am on to web application development for mobile. Now our web application is going to be accessed by client through blackberry. Now it has to support for indian language. Now when we open our site from blackberry the indian fonts, as obvious, are not visible. We even go to browser setting and change the charset to unicode. But even unicode charset is unable to display correct fonts.

Have been to many black berry forums but things there are really tought to swallow at the first look.

Some things I understood is that there are some cod files in picture and some semitic file. But i dont know what is a cod file or a semitic file. I dont want you to explain in detail but if u can just provide some links then it would be really usefull.

Also can we develop our own fonts for blackberry. Please provide guiding lines on this issue

i have no clue about a semitic file (is it a jewish file? ;) ).
a cod file is a compiled blackberry application file.

The number of fonts available on a device depends on the model and the BlackBerry Device Software version installed.

i would suggest that you contact rim support about how to display indian fonts.

Correct me if I am wrong, but RIM support is actually paid. So i am reluctant to have that paid support for font issue. Plus the handset is not my personal but its a client requirement and handset lies with client.

And semetic is a group of african languages. But i read in posts that for hebrew or similar language(Arabic) support people install in some *_semetic_*.cod file in their handset and also make an entry of that file in some alx file.

Now my question is, Is this cod file generated by some blackberry tech team or a developer like me(fair programmer) can develop it for providing font support.

If yes then how and if no then whom to contact who can do it. (Not the paid support.) Also I have searched on blackberry site but no direct support numbers or email address are given. So please provide a helping hand to me on this issue. I am ready to give all the efforts but i just dont have a proper direction.

Been to the service. Only provides Chinese, Japanese, Arabic and Hebrew support.

Seriously thankful for the concern though.

Can we seriously develop these things. If yes then how. If no then who can.

My thinking was that individual might develop it for you. He is a member of the forum here: GT5L : Your Number One BlackBerry Community
