I develop and support our company intranet. I've been asked to create a Blackberry friendly version of several pages.

My problem: loading documents from other file servers on our network. An http link using the format "//servername/path" returns "file not found", and a file link using the format "//servername/path" returns "Invalid address". From our Blackberry server (BES), I launched the page containing these links, and the links work just fine.

Has anyone else experienced this problem? I've searched high and low, and can't find even one post ANYWHERE addressing this same issue.

Are you expecting the Blackberry to mount a network file share (as it seems from to me from you question)? If so, I don't believe that is supported by the handheld OS.

It shouldn't have to mount it. This is a network server with NTFS, and the Blackberry can browse the file system. The .asp application displays all the folders on this server, and when I choose one of the folders, the content of that folder is then displayed. Choosing a folder isn't a problem, which, in my mind, rules out permissions and connectivity. The Blackberry can see the file, it just can't launch it.
