Porting a Midlet JAR/JAD to COD: data section too large (COD > 64 KB)
I am trying to port a jar/jad midlet by rapc call on the command line to Blackberry. I tried it like that:
C:\Programme\Research In Motion\BlackBerry JDE 4.5.0\bin>rapc import="..\lib\net_rim_api.jar" codename=MyProject -midlet jad=MyProject.jad MyProject.jar
this seems to work good for a while, it parses, reads, gives warnings and so on. But at least it stops with:
I/O Error: output file: MyProject-64.cod data section too large: 65284 bytes.
output file: MyProject-75.cod data section too large: 65068 bytes.
output file: MyProject-219.cod data section too large: 65176 bytes.
A little but confusing is that this message is for 64 KB CODs "not really true"? 64 KB should be 65536 (or 65535) byte, and this is below that?
Is there a easy way to solve this problem? It would be heavy to separate all into 64K blocks by hand.
seems the problem were the resource files. there were some png images ranging from 30 kb to 218 kb. tried to compress them with irfanview and yehaaa.. it works now :)
