Post Debug Attach to Handheld

Please Login to Remove!

Has anyone had any success debugging from your physical device?

I just downloaded JDE, and followed the instructions in the development guide to "install .debug files".

I set the handheld debug path; however when I try to attach to my device I get a "Cannot find file: net_rim_app_manager.debug". If I browse to the simulator debug files I downloaded for my device, I get "Bad debug information: C:\Program Files\Research In Motion\BlackBerry Device Simulators 4.2.2\ (8830-Sprint)\Debug\net_rim_app_manager.debug(46762021) - net_rim_app_manager(46f33817)".
Presumably some checksum is not matching. When I browse to the simulator that came with the JDE, the reported CS is (4873cc83).

My device is v4.2.2.176; however the only simulator I could find for the 8830 is v4.2.2.123.

Any suggestions?

Skip the "Cannot find file: net_rim_app_manager.debug" prompt (select "don't ask me this again").

You can download this debug from the RIM site, but it doesn't buy you much (depending on what level of debug you need). You can still signle-step and breakpoint your code without it.

The debug needs to be the exact build of the OS on the device.
