Can anyone offer any advice on how I might go about getting video working on my 8700 (which comes minus video player)?

Despite the lack of media card slot I would like to get 3gp video working on my 8700G.

By default the 8700 media app doesn't come with video support, however I can install Mobiola xPlayer. When I try to play a video I get an error I'm interpreting as codec not installed. I'm assuming xPlayer uses the standard BB video player codec, which is this case is omitted from the install.

Luckily I have identical version (4.5.0.55) of both an 8100 OS and 8700 OS, which I've been using to try and identify an additional codec COD I can install on my 8700. (Hey, it might be optimistic, but you never know!)

I've compared the Java directory on the loader directories, results below.

Compare \8100-v4.5.0.55_P2.7.0.68\Java with \8700-v4.5.0.55_P2.7.0.68\Java

The files:

net_rim_bb_medialoader_100_five_icon_library.cod and
net_rim_bb_medialoader_114_five_icon_library.cod

looked like possibilities, but I installed them with no affect.

You are wasting time...you won't get the video to work on the 8700 that doesn't support video.

If it could be done there wouldf already be a thread on here telling you how to do it....
