Default Application has attempted to open local content

Please Login to Remove!

I have an app that I have been creating that accesses the SD card. With OS 4.2 I had no problems, but once I upgraded to 4.5, every time I access teh sd card with the app, I get the following propmt: "The application ... has attempted to open local content. Would you like to allow this? (Yes/No)". It asks for EVERY file in the directory it is displaying.

I can get around this by enabling the firewall, but other apps do no do this.

Has something changed with the API? The file system interface was built off of RIM's sample file explorer.

Also, it does not display the prompt with the simulator, it is only when running on the BB.

Anyone have any idea what is happining?

I've run into the same issue, did you find a solution?

I had the same problem when using bb Tracker every time I tried to create or open a track. I found a suggestion that fixed the problem somewhere on the web 6 months ago. I upgraded my Curve to 4.5 today and the problem is back. ..and I can't find the fix from 6 months ago.

..I found the fix and it is counter intuitive! Enable your firewall and the messages stop! Options > Security Options > Firewall change Status to Enable, Save.

And what to do if the Firewall is already enabled (furthermore it is locked to "true") but the annoing messages do still come up?

I try to use jStarDict/TeeDict on my Curve with OS 4.5 and starting it requires to click away ~30 of those "The application ... has attempted to open local content." messages.

Check the Application permissions and make sure that local file access is allowed for the application.

I allowed every option available for the application in the application permission dialog but it still asks for every file access :(
