Default how to handle alphabetic key rim java api

hi all,
we are using rim api's on j2me for our application.
we are writing the alphabetics using canvas,we are not using any system
generated alphabets.
in j2me it is working fines as the keys will be only 0-9,
but when we ported our application to black berry only keys from 0 - 9
are getting printed,we want alphabets a-z to get print.
Can any one help us to come of this???
how to handle keys a - z in black berry...

override keychar method on ur screen class

protected boolean keyChar(char key, int status, int time)

to get the corresponding value of key pressed use Characters.____ class

this should help
