Default Playing Remote Audio with media.Manager

Please Login to Remove!

Hello,
I'm new to BlackBerry development, and I'm having quite a time trying to get something pretty basic to work. I'm working on an application that will stream MP3 audio from a remote server, and I'm having issues with the following code:

// http: removed due to forum restrictions
Player p = Manager.createPlayer("[see comment above]//example.com/mp3/doh.mp3");
p.start();

However, this works just fine:

Player p = Manager.createPlayer("file:///SDCard/blackberry/music/doh.mp3");
p.start();

I'm running on Windows XP with the MDS simulator active. I've successfully used the remote HTTP demo and also downloaded the example MP3 using the Buffered Playback demo. The Buffered Playback demo refuses to play as well and just gives an exception that says "+++{1} Operation unsuccessful [2]".

Is it possible to make a remote MP3 stream in realtime, or do I have to download it first? Also, I've heard some chatter about HTTP requests being limited to 500k, which means you have to download content in partial chunks. Is this true?

Thanks in advance!
Travis

Ok, I've narrowed this down to the Storm simulator. The code works fine with the Bold (9000) simulator and also works with the 8820 simulator.

Did anybody knows the solution to this problem?
