Unhappy Device Simulator not working

Hello,

I installed Blackberry JDE v4.5 and i can't get the Device Simulator to run. I am getting the error message "Blackberry Handheld Simulator has stopped working". I am using Vista 64 bit.

Don't use Vista 64-bit.

But is it surely a problem of vista 64-bit?

I completely gave up on Vista after wasting 2 months trying to get the various tools working reliably. So I dusted off an XP machine, installed the tools, and everything worked.

I really gave up when I was in a room full of RIM folks and raised the issue "your tools are a disaster on Vista". They laughed and said "everything is a disaster on Vista". Tye message I took away: we're not worried about making Vista work.

My motto: life is too short to waste your time an a crappy OS that will be discontinued before all of the issues get fixed.
