Default HTTPConnection class and ACL

Please Login to Remove!

Hello, I am trying to submit a GET to my server which is running apache with an ACL (access control list) implemented with an .htaccess file. I am able to accomplish this with a browser by either logging in the popup from the web server or using this notation for the URL: http://user:password@domain/dir?param1=val1&param2=val2 ... etc. When I try this over gprs from the Blackberry using the HTTPConnection class it throws a malformed url exception as soon as I call the open method on the url. As soon as I take away the user:password away from the url, it no longer throws the malformed url exception but then I am blocked by the security of the ACL. What is the correct way of accomplishing this, with this class ?

If you are using Basic Auth you should look at this knowledge base article. If another Auth type you should be able to code for it as well.
