Default Browser Channel Push GUI?

Please Login to Remove!

I've searched and searched for a nifty little tool that will allow me to push any URL as a separate icon to devices in my environment but can't seem to find one. I'm not a developer, so making one myself is out of the question.

All I really want to do is take my web-based internal phone directory (www.mycompany.com/internalnumbers) and push it to selected devices connected to my BES.

A few parameters that I need to follow:
  • The directory list is for 5000+ employees and it changes daily
  • Not everybody on the BES wants the directory
  • It needs to be a separate custom icon on the banner screen of the device
  • Distribution tool needs to be in a GUI format
Anybody got a cool tool like that where I can point to the URL, enter the PIN/e-mail of the folks who want it, and [CLICK] to distribute?

Thanks,
DBB

So i found an image of what I'm looking for in an old BlackBerry PPT presentation. Anybody know where I can d/l this from? It's exactly what I need: Enter the URL, title and the PIN of the recipient.

Anybody? Bueller? Bueller?

Thanks Jules, but that ECL is crap. You have to continually update it and push out to your users. What I want to do is just push a channel icon that points to a specific URL.

Let's say I want to have it point to www.nfl.com/fantasy I can program it to do that and then push the icon. I can change the title, the url and the icon itself by changing it on the GUI.

I'm bringing the screen shot with me to WES and I'll try to pin down a RIM developer for the file.

Yea, that looked a little more advanced then the demo I saw last week. I emailed my Verizon rep to see if she can get information from the RIM guy that gave the demo. When I get a response I'll pass it along.

Dude, WES starts today. Be patient, I'll ask around with some of the RIM developers. Sheesh...

fbrimm - can I get a copy of this too?

We're looking in doing (I believe) the same and I'm hoping this code would help us out?
Does the demo show/explain how to use this?

Thanks!

mathieut,

If you go to the link spipedong provided (minus the spaces before blackberry and com) you can download the sample app from RIM. The article explains how to fill in the fields, but if you have any questions/problems let me know and I'll try to help.
