Default Can not invoke Native Media Player with local files

Please Login to Remove!

I am trying to invoke the media player using a local file on the sd card. On the createMedia line, it throws an exception. The exception message is the name of the file.

MediaPlayer player = new MediaPlayer();
MediaManager manager = new MediaManager();
Object m = manager.createMedia(localFile, "audio/mpeg");
player.setMedia(m);
player.start();

Any ideas how I can play a local file?

I have been able to play sound files using the javax.microedition.media stuff, but it just plays the sound. I want them to have it in a player where they can see progress bar, stop/start, etc.

well for what it's worth... i never got this code to work. i ended up using the content handler api, but it doesn't work on version 4.2.... so it doesn't really meet the requirements of my project. I am looking at calling the CodeModuleManager for version 4.2, but it doesn't look promising.
