String size limit in Blackberry?

Hi,
first of all excuse me for my bad english.
I'm developing a J2ME application for the Blackberry 7100g and I've found a problem with the Strings. My app has several methods that receive a String as a parameter. When the String size is over 1024 characters the method receives an empty String. I've tested the method with String's size up to 1024 ch., and it works but when I make a call passing a String over 1024 characters the method receives it as empty.
Any help would be appreciated.
