To see if it is moving you can go in to options status type test in go in to trackball/keyboard test and run it (works on most os)
but to capture all events ....not sure

You can override navigationMovement() in your screen or manager. This method is called whenever the trackball is moved.
See the API docs for Screen.navigationMovement()
