Angry Exceptions thrown on hello world app :(

Please Login to Remove!

Hey all,

Although I've developed many applications before, I am new to Blackberry development. I followed a basic tutorial I found on the web for a hello world app.

I followed it perfectly. When i tried to run it, it complained "Uncaught exception thrown - ControlledAccessException".

After looking in the variables section, it looked like a "SecurityException".

I try and debug the code but it says "source code not avaiable".

How do I go about debugging this? I can't even see what line of code is failing

Thanks for any advice you can give.

Ryan

Is this on the simulator or the device?

On the simulator, you'll get "no source" when the actual line of code throwing the exception is in a RIM module that you do not have the source to. You would then have to view the call stack window (in the debugger) and work backwards until you find the line of *your* code that precipitated the issue.

On the device, you'll need to access the device event log and retrieve the exception stack trace.
