Default How to skip sms from going to inbox

Please Login to Remove!

I want to filter some sms on some precondition & don't want to move to the inbox. For handling incoming sms i have reffered following KB article:

How_To_-_Use_SMS_to_notify_an_application

In this article there is written, If we dont want to appear the sms into the inbox, then we have to make it system messege by setting the Protocol Identifier & digital Coding Scheme.

But i don't understand how to do all that. Can anyone explain in brief what to do?..My aim is that i jus dont want to move some perticular sms messeges to the inbox.

For sending & receiving sms manually i am using sms server provided by JDE.

Regards,
Jyotin

Wirelessly posted (MY 8900)

I'm not sure what you are asking for.

How to get an sms to redirect to an app? Or how to change a particular sms setting?

Hi guys...
I have used MessegeListener in my application to notify the incoming sms.
Now I want that when some special sms arrived in my BB simulator with some specific key word, in the notifyIncomingMessege() method some steps should be taken so that that sms can't reach to the inbox.
My aim is to just filter some sms by preventing them to go to the inbox, nothing else.

Can you have some idea??

You cannot keep SMS from going into the inbox, unless there is a "system" flag set on the SMS and it is directed at a port other than the default port.

Please read this KB article:

Livelink - Redirection

A "chat" message is not the same thing as an SMS message.

To keep the SMS from going into the inbox, you need to control the sending of the SMS.

See the article link that I posted above.
