Default Setting Owner Name/Info

I was able to get the owner's name and info using the OwnerInfo class. However, the class only has getters. Is there any way to set it?

From the user interface, or from the BES. I don't see any useful purpose for any third party application to set the OwnerInfo.

So there's no way to set it through the blackberry java api?

I want to make an app that sets the owner information dynamically. I figure it would be cool since that's displayed when the phone's locked.

You may think it is cool, but for me it would be reason to delete the application. You will find on the Blackberry in any competition between cool and security, security wins.

Wirelessly posted

Well, this would be my own personal app so security wouldn't be an issue.

That is true, but if the capability is there for you to do it for your own Blackberry, the the capability is there for someone else to do it to my Blackberry (if I use their application).
