in blackbery 8800 os 4.2 carrier airtel india i am trying to connect to internet through method connector.open(url+";deviceside=true;apn=airtelgpr s.com;").
but device hangs on this function call and i have to restart the blackberry.

please advice me what's the problem in this url.

Remove the semicolon at the end of the connection parameter:

(url+";deviceside=true;apn=airtelgpr s.com")
