Default Device Memory Limit setting

Please Login to Remove!

In the 2.x and 3.x platforms under the Media - Options menu, you can set the device memory limit. On my 8310 Curve this value can be set to 12MB or 15MB. This setting limits the amount of storage space available to my voice recording application to less then what all the different Blackberry and Midlet functions tell me should be available as storage space.

Is there a method in the API that tells you what this device memory limit is set to and/or what the "real" available space is for my application to store voice files?
