JSR172 SAXParseException in the return SOAP message from the server.

Hello,

I am having problems in passing byte[] to a web service in created in .NET.
In the WSDL file, the byte[] data type is represented as base64binary. I created the stubs using the Java WTK.

First thing i did, i read a text file, and sent the byte[] data of the text file to the web service. It worked fine.

Now, i'm trying to read an image file and an msword document, pass the byte[] data of these files to the web service, but i receive a "SAXParseException in the return SOAP message from the server."

The text file data is larger than the image file and the msword document, so i'm quite sure it has nothing to do with the size limitation of JSR172. Can somebody point me to the right direction on what is happening to my application? I don't know what is causing this problem.

Please help! :(

Hi Jacytan,

From other postings here or on BlackBerry's forum I found that J2ME does not support byte[] - you'll need to use String instead (that assumes you can change the Web Service) - note - I cannot post links yet so put www in front of these:

stackoverflow.com/questions/925756/passing-byte-array-from-blackberry-to-net-webservice]Passing Byte array from Blackberry to .NET Webservice - Stack Overflow

This posting might have a way around the byte[] issue but not clear:
blackberryforums.com/developer-forum/125296-send-byte-web-service.html

And this one may have a way around:
blackberryforums.com/developer-forum/198741-ksoap2-byte.html

I couldn't find the link on RIMs forum but there are a couple there as well.
