Default Document Builder and Sax Parsing - Pls help me start off

Hi,
I would like to know what exactly a documentbuilder does ? I couldnt really find any reference to any documentation that explains that.The thing is , i am developing this application that gets an xml schema and according to that schema , the application needs to render controls on the screen.
I would like to know if the documentbuilder would be of any use to me. I have absolutely no experience in this , so i have absolutely no idea on how to proceed..

And if its not askin too much could someone post some sample code on using the "Documentbuilder " and "saxparsing" . Something like a sample application would be of great help..
