Question Screen Resolution Development Issue???

Please Login to Remove!

I don't know much about programming. I have a background in some web design and have built many websites. Anyway, I have a very large website with multiple levels of information and links that I think would be awesome if I were able to convert it into a Blackberry app.

I don't know how to get around this issue, but the newer Blackberries (Curve, Tour, Storm) all have a wider screen resolution than the older blackberries.
  • Tour - 360x480
  • Storm - 360x480
  • Curve 8900 - 360x480
  • Curve 8850 - 320 x 240
  • Bold - 320 x 480

I'm not concerned about the different heights, because the user will be able to scroll up and down to read the text. However, I am concerned about the different widths (ie, 360 & 320). How do you people get around this issue?

There are a few different options:

1. Code for 320 and waste 40 pixels. This is even more wasteful if Storm is turned sideways.

2. Use a different size font to present same data on 320 or 360 wide screen.

3. Depending on what you are displaying you may be able to scale images to fit both?

4. Only support the newer Blackberrys as ones like 8100 have 240 wide screen.

Looks like you are talking not about Blackberry app but rather of mobile version of that "very large website" of yours.
And this is absolutely different story, and you have to post your question on some 'Web Developers' forum.
Blackberry app is supposed to access that web site and do some GET/POST stuff,
and deal with the data received.
In some apps you may never even see web site, web service(s) is the example.
