Default number format, floating point

Please Login to Remove!

Given a pattern "000000.000" and a double with value 123.78
I need output of "000123.780".

Overall I need to support format descriptors f,g,E.

I have looked at the threads on this and it seems that
MessageFormatter does not support numeric classes.

One message I saw at
said to check for custom formatting methods here...
hypertextprotocol world wide web horstmann subdir corejava subdir

This code has a license which is non-commercial only
(and it's sun, they don't mess around.)
It would be a substantial pain to hand roll this code.

Tips, code, bsd open source refs?

Help me please!

thanks so much.

You could have a look at printf and friends from the GNU standard C library. Would still be quite a bit of work but less than starting from scratch.
My other Blackberry is a PlayBook.
