Post How to launch a blackberry application while receiving a new e-mail?

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

I want to launch my blackberry application when i receive a new e-mail on the device. The email has to notify the application's particular view has to be opened.

For example, if my blackberry application has four screens, then from an email, I want to open the second screen of the application.

Also, I wish to know the feasibility of opening an application from the email's content. Eg., an email should contain a link, and while the user clicks on the link, my application should be launched automatically.

Thanks in advance.

Are you developing the application?

That question might be best asked in our Developer section.... I'll move this one.

Look at FolderListener - this allows your app to receive a notification (and a copy of the message) when a new message is received by the device.

For using FolderListener, my application must be already running (in background). But my aim is to launch an application if it's not already launched and running also.

The way you do that kind of processing in Blackberry is to launch on start, hook into the API and do your processing when called.

How about looking in the Blackberry Knowledgebase?

Here is one of several articles that should point you in the right direction:
