Issue with Midlet upgrade on BB devices ...

Hi,
I am confronted with a strange problem w.r.t Midlet upgrade on some of the BB devices. Specifically 8310 and 8120.
I have a J2ME application that uses RMS data for certain configuration. When I attempt to upgrade the Midlet from version X to version Y (Y>X) the RMS data is retained.
Whereas when I upgrade the Midler from version X to version X (upgrade to the same version using the same source and binary) these 2 handsets - 8310 and 8120 - does not retain the RMS data.
This is totally unexpected and strange.
Has anyone encountered such a behavior? Is this a know handset issue?

I am facing similar problem with 8130.
