Default 3 rd Party bluetooth Application - 11-04-2009, 07:27 AM

Hi all,

I am developing a bluetooth application , using that i want to send/recevice data between 2 devices. I am in design phase. Please provide me few inputs like, whether application should take care of turn on/enabling bluetooth, searching for device and pairing with the device before starting the acutal communcation.
Or
Since the mobile provides option to search and pair with devices can I prombt message to the user to use the native BT option to search and pari the device.

Please provide which will be the feasible way of doing.
I want to know the behaviour of some other thrid party application like google map for BB which uses bluetooth for communication.

Thanks in Advance.

An application cannot enable/disable Bluetooth radio, it's a privilege of the user/OS.

Discovery is available in latest SDKs as far as I remember, pairing not. And you cannot communicate with not paired devices.

Blessed is the end user who expects nothing, for he/she will not be disappointed. (Franklin's Rule)
